Visa Requirements

The visa policy of Georgia has liberalized since 2014, allowing citizens of 94 countries to enter, reside, work and study in Georgia without the necessity to obtain either visa or residence permit. In addition, Georgian Government approved the list of 50 countries whose visa and/or residence permit holders may enter to Georgia without a visa for an appropriate period and under appropriate conditions.

Here the easiest way to obtain short-term C category Georgian visa electronically without visiting Georgian Embassy or Consular Office: You may submit the documentation as through E-Application System as via e-Visa Portal depending on the purpose of the travel.

About Batumi

Batumi is one of the most distinguished tourist destinations at the Black Sea. A combination of ancient and modern architecture, a historical port, serene botanical garden, the Seaside Boulevard, European squares and streets - not to mention world-class hotels, restaurants, cafes and bars represented in Batumi make up the face of modern Georgia.

It is worth mentioning that in 2012 American Academy of Hospitality Sciences nominated Batumi as the best tourist destination of the year.

In the first half of the 20th century European architects flocked to Batumi and created numerous unique architectural designs. Development of Batumi was closely connected to the global economic and industrial development. During this period Nobel Brothers and Rothschild family started their commercial activities (enterprises) in Batumi.

Batumi today is still distinguished by modern architecture and abundance of investments. In addition, modern Batumi is a cultural centre of Georgia hosting numerous international festivals with participation of famous musicians and artists.

Batumi International Airport

Batumi is served by Batumi International Airport, about 10 km from Batumi City. Upon arrival, access to ground transport is simple and convenient, with taxis and minibuses available for access into the city.


Airport Transfer

There will be a person waiting for you after customs formalities with a sign stating the conference name. You simply need to tell your name to the taxi driver, so that he can escort you to your taxi for you trip to your hotel.

Georgian time is set at UTC+4. There is no daylight saving system in summer.


Banks and Currency

The local currency is the GEORGIAN LARI (GEL). Foreign exchange facilities are widely available and can be found at Batumi International Airport and at all Banks operating in Batumi and in various major shopping centers as well. Most shops, hotels and restaurants accept all major credit cards. Banking hours: 10:00 to 18:00 (weekdays), and 10:00 to 14:00 (Saturdays).
